THE DESIRE TO LEARN ENGLISH
At the age of 9, Elcenir’s desire to learn English sprouted from the idea of being able to communicate with people all across the globe and of being independent. His dreams were of those beyond Brazilian borders.

PURSUING A DREAM
Elcenir enrolled himself into a private English school at the age of 12.
BECOMING A TEACHER
As a very young fluent English speaker, Elcenir became a teacher when he was 17. He started working in public and private schools, and teaching in his own home privately.

UNDERSTANDING FLUENCY IN THE LANGUAGE
One of the things he could never understand was why most public and private school students never became fluent in the language. Then the idea of putting a teaching method together came to him. Based on his early experiences from his public school students, he realized it was more than just "verb TO BE". He believed that if you wanted to learn the language and speak fluently, even living in your own foreign country, you would need to go further than just that, and that's exactly what he did.
BUILDING A FAMILY AND PLANNING AHEAD
He started dating his childhood friend, Cida (a Brazilian-Portuguese teacher), and taught her how to speak English. She became one of his first successful students. Three months later, the couple got officially engaged, getting married almost two years later.

WORKING TOWARD A BETTER FUTURE
Cida started teaching English along with her husband and they decided to establish their own English school and moved to the United States of America a few years later.
NEWBORN BRINGING CHANGES
With the birth of their first child, Wayne, a name for the school began to materialize: WEC English School, each letter standing for their names, Wayne, Elcenir and Cida.

CHANGING THE SCHOOL NAME
The name of the school gets changed to WEC English Institute.
THE AMERICAN DREAM
Ceni and Cida moved to the United States of America. They lived in Suwanee, Georgia for a short time, then moved to Newark, New Jersey, but they've always wanted to live in Massachusetts. So, they moved again. They have been living in Brockton, MA for over twenty years now and they have continued teaching English in both countries (Brazil and the USA), including all ages from 4-year-olds to elders and companies, providing the best teaching techniques to meet their students' fast learning needs.
