Morro do Moreno (Vila Velha, ES - Brazil)
Distance: 4.26 miles (2 hours and 18 minutes).
Today marked a special milestone for Maria Clara, a 16-year-old student invited by her teacher, Ceni, to an outdoor conversation training. This was Maria Clara's first experience outside the traditional classroom setting, a moment filled with excitement and anticipation.
Surprisingly, the Santa Luzia Lighthouse located in Praia da Costa, Vila Velha, ES - Brazil, was closed, though the sign read “closed until March 8th, 2024.” For some reason, the navy soldier, who had been watching the place, approached us holding his cell phone with Google Translate open, with the following message: “The Lighthouse will remain closed, but I can allow you both access for at least 15 minutes.” Wow! He had just made their day! Not only this, but he also granted them access to the lighthouse tower. Something that hardly ever happens to the public, and Ceni and Maria Clara appreciated everything and thanked the soldier for being so nice and very welcoming.
Maria Clara's intelligence and dedication shine brightly in all her endeavors. She approaches her goals with unwavering determination, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to achieving her next step to become a fluent English language speaker. As she embarks on this new journey of learning and growth, Maria Clara's resilience and passion will undoubtedly continue to inspire those around her.
Teacher Ceni's passion for teaching should be a role model for most teachers across the country. They should strive to make a difference in students' lives, not for financial gain, but for the opportunity to truly teach, participate, and help open the stage of life for their students in a way that they can show themselves grandly, fearlessly, become independent individuals, and make their dreams come true.
What a DAY!
