Downtown Vitória, in Espírito Santo, Brazil, provided the setting for a long and meaningful Saturday morning walk.
Teacher Elcenir and student Vinícius, also known as Vinny, took their Outdoor Conversation Training through the heart of the city—once spelled “Victória” until the 1940s. As the capital of the state, Vitória carries a rich history, having been founded in 1551 and uniquely located on a small island within a bay where several rivers meet the sea.
Walking through this historic environment, the session combined language practice with cultural awareness. The surroundings offered countless opportunities for conversation, allowing Vinny to engage in English while connecting with the city’s past and present.
It was another example of how learning extends beyond the classroom—where history, place, and language come together in a natural and meaningful way.
